AGENCY OVERSIGHT

Know whether your agency's work is helping sales.

You pay an agency every month. The reports look busy, but you can't tell if the work is bringing in customers.

I review the plan, the work and the results with you. Then I help your agency and team focus on what moves sales, and keep you clear on progress.

Your first hour is free. After that, oversight is priced on the time, review schedule and training we agree.

Does this sound familiar?

The monthly report is full of clicks, reach and rankings. But it doesn't say how many enquiries came in, or how many became paying customers.

Or you asked for one thing and got another. Or the agency says it needs more budget, and you have no way to judge if that's right.

None of this means the agency is bad. Often good people are working to a vague brief, chasing the wrong number or missing what happens after an enquiry reaches you.

What I check.

Four things tell me whether the work is helping sales.

The brief.

Does the agency know what you sell, who buys it and what a good result looks like? A weak brief leads to busy work.

The plan.

What are they doing each month, and why? I check that the plan ties back to sales, not just activity.

The work.

I look at the ads, pages, emails and content themselves. Good numbers can hide work that won't last.

The numbers.

Clicks, enquiries, quotes and sales are different measures. I check what the agency reports, what it can actually see and what happens once an enquiry reaches your team.

What I'll ask you for.

It helps to have the agency's last few reports, the brief or contract, and what you pay each month.

Access to your ad accounts, website analytics and enquiry records makes the review much more useful. We agree what I can see before I start, and I only use it for the review.

What you get.

You get a plain view of what the agency is doing well, what isn't working and where the gaps are.

You also get a short list of questions to put to them, and a clear next step for each one. Then we agree who owns each action and when it's due.

If you want ongoing oversight, I meet with you and the agency on a regular rhythm. Some people call this a fractional marketing director or fractional CMO: senior marketing judgement for a few days a month, without a full time hire. I check the plan, review the work and ask what the numbers show. That way you stay clear on progress without having to manage the detail.

I also train your team to work the new way, whether that's a short workshop, a few weeks working alongside them or a simple guide they can follow. Training is part of the agreed scope, not an extra.

Better results, not a fight.

My aim is to help the people you already pay do their best work. Most agencies welcome a clearer brief and better feedback.

If something isn't working, we raise it early and agree a fix. A change of agency is a last step, not the first.

Where my team fits.

My team also does delivery work, such as ads, websites and email follow up. If I think your work would be better done another way, I'll say so plainly and explain why.

You decide what happens next. An oversight review doesn't commit you to using my team.

Know the cost before work starts.

The first hour is free. If we work together, a one off review and ongoing oversight are each priced after that hour, based on the time, review schedule and training we agree.

Your agency's fees stay between you and the agency. You see the full cost of my part before you decide.

Questions owners ask.

Short, straight answers to what owners ask me about agency oversight.

Will my agency know you're involved?

For a review of their work, yes. It works best in the open, and it gives them a fair chance to explain their choices.

Can you look at more than one agency?

Yes. If you use separate firms for ads, search and your website, I can help them work to one plan.

What if the problem isn't the agency?

That happens often. The issue may be the offer, or what happens after an enquiry arrives. I'll tell you what I find, wherever it is.

The numbers.

Clicks, enquiries, quotes and sales are different measures. I check what the agency reports, what it can actually see and what happens once an enquiry reaches your team.

Talk through your agency and results.

Bring your last report and the question that's bothering you. We'll use the first hour to see what's happening and where I'd start.

If the calendar does not show a time that suits you, send a message through the contact page.

I help business owners get better results from sales and marketing through clear advice, agency oversight and work delivered by my team.
